- 2 tablespoons (15 g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) kosher salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 sprinkle of thyme
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) olive oil
To begin, heat the butter and oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the butter is melted, add the garlic and onion to the skillet and cook until the onion is softened and lightly browned. Then add the mushrooms, stirring occasionally and cooking for about five minutes until the mushrooms have softened. Finally, add the chicken broth and macaroni, stir to combine, and reduce the heat to low. Cover the skillet and simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the macaroni is cooked and the sauce has thickened.
Once the macaroni is cooked through and has absorbed most of the liquid, remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the cream, Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and thyme.
