Ingredients
- 8 ounces sliced bacon, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
- 8 ounces fettuccine
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
1. Cook the diced bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until it is crisp and the fat has been rendered. Remove the bacon from the skillet and set aside.
2. In the same skillet, heat the butter and add the garlic. Sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Whisk in the flour until combined. Gradually add in the cream, whisking constantly, until the sauce has thickened, about 5 minutes. Add in the Parmesan cheese and season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir in the cooked bacon.
3. Meanwhile, cook the fettuccine according to the package directions. Drain and transfer the cooked pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to combine and keeps warm over low heat.
4. Transfer to a serving dish and sprinkle with fresh parsley. Serve hot.
