Do you love cooking up something special for your family? Here I have two easy recipes for pasta and faux stained glass that are perfect for kids and adults alike.
Pasta
This pasta dish is perfect for a quick lunch or dinner. With just a few simple ingredients, you can have a tasty meal in no time!
To make the pasta, start by boiling a large pot of salted water. Once it's boiling, add 1 pound of pasta and cook until al dente, according to the package instructions. Drain the water, and set the pasta aside.
In a separate large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add 1 minced garlic clove, 1/2 teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes, and 1/2 teaspoon of Italian seasoning. Saute the garlic and spices for 1 minute, then add 1/4 cup of white wine and cook for 1 minute more.
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and stir to combine. Once the pasta is coated with the oil and wine, stir in 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese, 1/4 cup of chopped fresh parsley, and 1/4 cup of halved cherry tomatoes. Taste and season with salt and pepper as desired.
Serve the pasta with extra grated cheese and parsley, if desired. Enjoy!
Faux Stained Glass
This holiday season, why not make a festive faux stained glass craft? Your kids will have a blast creating their own designs, and putting them up in a window to show off their hard work!
To make the faux stained glass, you will need tissue paper in red, green, and gold colors; clear-drying school glue; wax paper; and a roller or brayer.
Start by cutting the tissue paper into small squares, triangles, and rectangles to create the stained glass look. Then, lay a sheet of wax paper on a flat surface and arrange the tissue paper pieces in any design you like. Once you’re happy with the design, use a roller or brayer to evenly spread a layer of school glue over the top of the tissue paper. Allow the glue to dry completely.
Once the glue is dry, you can cut out the faux stained glass and place it in a window pane or tape it to a window. Allow the light to shine through for a beautiful, festive display.
